Dr. Whitmire has provided therapeutic services since 2004. Her clinical and professional experiences include working in a variety of settings such as psychiatric hospitals, department of corrections, residential treatment, universities, and private practice.

She incorporates a variety of techniques in order to encourage personal growth, and works with each client to help build on their personal strengths and resources. Dr. Whitmire views therapy as highly interactive and a collaborative process between the therapist and clients. She believes that there are numerous reasons why people seek therapy. Regardless of what the reason may be, we all hold the innate capacity to improve and change our lifestyles. Therapy provides a safe environment to explore such changes needed, and allows for individuals to gain personal awareness, insight, and growth.

Dr. Whitmire specializes in helping clients who experience anxiety, depression, grief & loss, relationship stressors, high performance stressors/perfectionism, and trauma. She has further provided mental performance and resilience support for athletes, executive leaders, law enforcement, and surgical professionals.

Dr. Whitmire has training in the following couples curriculum: Gottman Level 1 and 2, Bringing Baby Home, and Prepare & Enrich. She provides supervision, advanced case consultation services for licensed professionals, and speaking engagements.
